The team at GPO work hard to curate an exciting mix of vendors to take up residency within the food market and we’re excited to introduce you to its two newest tenants!
Greek Mythos
You’ve got to hand it to Greece, they invented democracy, the Olympics and most importantly, it’s the setting for Mamma Mia – that’s a pretty good track record by our standards.
Greek Mythos has arrived at GPO to carry on the good work, serving up some incredible dishes. They specialise in authentic Greek street food – think wraps, mousakka, beef styfado, traditional Greek pies, baklava and much more.
We’ve pulled together our top picks for must-try dishes on your next visit;
Chicken Gyros
You can’t go wrong with a wrap. Spit roast chicken, creamy tzatziki, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, chips and paprika, all wrapped up inside a Greek pitta bread – an absolute winner.
Wraps are also available with beef, pork, halloumi, sausage, falafel and lamb fillings.
Greek Sausage Meal
A Greek classic, 3 grilled Greek sausages, on a bed of chips and pitta bread, served with salad, tzatziki and mythos sauce – the only way to elevate your Greek restaurant experience any further would be to smash the plates (please don’t smash the plates, we really mean it).
Baklava
The origin of baklava has always been disputed, but like Sam, Bill and Harry from Mamma Mia, the Greeks have taken it under their wing and claimed it as one of their own. Delicious layers of pastry, filled with nuts and honey syrup – it’s the perfect way to end your meal. And if you’re too full of pitta and mousakka, why not take a few pieces home with you?
