Pop Up Police Museum Opens at Metquarter

6 week pop up to showcase more than a century of police heritage and artifacts

Metquarter welcomes a unique and educational pop up museum to the centre in partnership with Merseyside Police.

The Merseyside Police Museum will open to the public on the ground floor of the centre from 7th April 2026. The museum will be open Monday – Wednesday, from 10am to 4pm, offering visitors an immersive insight into the history of policing over the years.

The free museum will showcase the evolution of police memoriablia spanning from the pre World War I era to the present day. Designed as an engaging and educational experience for visitors of all ages, the museum features historic uniforms as well as police equipment including batons and handcuffs.

An interactive custody desk will provide visitors with a hands-on opportunity to explore the inner workings of a booking-in process and gain insights into day to day policing procedures.

The museum will be staffed by knowledgable volunteers, who will be on hand to share their expertise and provide deeper context to the items on display.
