Sleigh, What! Check Out These Fantastic Christmas Workshops at Metquarter

It seems like only last week that we were baking in 40° heat – and somehow it’s nearly Christmas? Sounds suspicious but we’ll roll with it.

Crafting your own Christmas decorations and gifts not only provides a super thoughtful present for a loved one (or yourself 🙈), but it’s also the opportunity for a fantastic fun day out with your pals or family. 🧵🎨

To share some extra special festive cheer, all workshops are heavily discounted thanks to sponsorship from Liverpool BID Company, GPO Food Market and Metquarter. And if that wasn’t enough of a treat for you, GPO Food Market (where all workshops will be taking place) is offering a 10% discount on the day of your workshop so you can relax with a cocktail or a delicious dish from any of its vendors whilst you admire your hard work.

Make a Silver Ring – Beginners Silversmith Workshop with Noctua Jewellery

Saturday 3rd December

10am – 12:30pm

Gold is so last year. This Christmas, we’re all about silver! In this workshop, you’ll learn to create your very own ring from sterling silver – perfect as a Christmas gift for a loved one, or as a treat for yourself.

Guided by experts from Noctua Jewellery, you will make either two slim stacking rings with a semi-precious stone or a wider ring with added texture. All the rings are made of sterling silver using traditional silversmithing techniques.

The class is ideal for complete beginners, and you will practice a range of traditional silversmithing techniques including sizing the ring, measuring the silver needed, filing, shaping the silver, soldering, adding unique textures with a collection of hammers, polishing the ring to your desired shine and finally setting the stone.

There will be members of the Noctua team at hand throughout this process to support, advise and teach you the skills needed while allowing you to make the ring independently.

Those making stacking rings can also choose from a wide range of semi-precious gemstones on the day.

If you use glasses for reading then we recommend you bring them on the day, along with wearing old clothes. You will need to wear closed toe shoes and tie up long hair.

The workshop lasts for two and a half hours and costs £25 + booking fee – reduced from the usual £65 per person thanks to the subsidy from Liverpool BID, GPO Food Market and Metquarter.

There are 12 spaces in this workshop, why not invite your friends and create complimenting pieces of jewellery? 💍Book your tickets here.
