It doesn’t seem like 5 minutes since the kids were off for Christmas, but like it or not, the school holidays have rolled around again and the family is in need of some entertainment! However don’t fret, we’ve put together our top picks for keeping little ones (and not so little ones) busy over the Easter break.
Kids Eat Free at GPO!
Not content with only giving out free meals during the school holidays, GPO Liverpool has extended its kids eat free offer throughout the whole of April!
Children under 12 eat free with the purchase of a full priced main meal – why not take the opportunity to introduce new foods to them! With independent kitchens covering cuisine from across the world, including delicious Dim Sum from Heekee Liverpool, rich Moussaka from Greek Mythos and spiced Keema Dosa from Chit ‘n’ Chaat – you can take the whole family on a round-trip of incredible flavours this school holiday.
Easter Character Breakfast
Off the back of our spectacular character breakfast which saw superheroes and Disney princesses descend on Metquarter for breakfast, we’ve invited Alice and a very cheeky Easter Bunny to do it all over again!
They’ll be joining us at GPO Liverpool for a morning of fun, expect games, dancing, photo opportunities, and of course, a delicious breakfast! The event takes place on Tuesday 12th April at 10am and booking is essential. Learn more and book your tickets here.
Cinema Trip at Everyman
No school holiday is complete without a trip to the cinema and the new Sonic The Hedgehog film has landed just in time to keep the whole family entertained. Ben Schwartz reprises his role as Sonic and has to team up with sidekick Tails in order to stop Dr. Robotnik getting his hands on an emerald which has the power to destroy civilisations.
As well as the film, you can also enjoy drinks, hot food and snacks in their bar or even have waiter service from your cinema seat so you don’t miss a second of the action!

LEGO Education Robotics Workshop
Everyone loves LEGO! Back after some fantastic half term workshops earlier in the year, the LEGO team are back for more robotics fun.
Little ones will be challenged with building and coding a LEGO robot using the brand new LEGO Education SPIKE Essential Robot Set and using simple icon-based coding to bring their creation to life! Working together in pairs, they’ll be learning lots of STEM skills whilst having fun and creating lots of different things like robot cars, games and theme park rides!
The workshop is suitable for ages 6 to 11, however parents can feel free to grab a coffee (or cocktail) and some food from GPO vendors whilst younger ones take part.
The event is on Wednesday 13th April from 11am-12pm. Tickets are £10 each and you can book here.
AmazeLab Presents: Easter STEAM Challenge Workshop!
Another friend of Metquarter and GPO Liverpool, AmazeLabs is back for more interesting workshops! Children will be challenged to transport an egg down a zipline, building a holder to make it travel safely along the line!
The workshop is aimed at 5-11 year olds and parents/grandparents/older children are more than welcome to relax at GPO Liverpool with some of the incredible food and delicious drinks that we offer.
The event takes place on Wednesday April 13th from 11am – 12pm and tickets cost £10 per child. You can book here.
AmazeLab Presents: Jumping Bunnies Workshop!
Another one from the AmazeLab team – Jumping Bunnies! In this workshop, your child can create their very own jumping bunny to learn all about elasticity and forces!
This event takes place on Wednesday April 13th from 1pm-2pm and you can book here. Tickets cost £10 per child.
Turn Your Pet Into a Cartoon!
This one is for the older ones! Suitable for ages 12+, this class will be all about turning your lovable pet into a cartoon character! Dot Art are joining us and you’ll learn the basics of drawing your pet as a cartoon character – whether they’ve got scales, feathers or a waggy tail!
It takes place on Saturday 23rd April from 10:30am – 12:30pm at GPO Liverpool, booking is essential and tickets are £25 per person. Book here.
