Half Term Fun at Metquarter

Love it or loathe it, half term has come round again! But don’t fret, we’ve rounded up the best activities to keep the kids busy (and happy!) this half term. Keep reading for our top picks.

Build a LEGO Robot!

GPO Liverpool not only spoil us with a massive range of food and drink, but it’s helping to take the stress out of half term by putting on some amazing workshops!

Your child will be challenged with building and coding a LEGO robot using the brand new LEGO Education SPIKE Essential Robot Set and using simple icon-based coding to bring their creation to life! Working together in pairs, they’ll be learning lots of STEM skills whilst having fun and creating lots of different things like robot cars, games and theme park rides!

This one is only for the kids we’re afraid – the class is suitable for ages 6 to 11,  however parents can feel free to grab a coffee (or cocktail) and some food from GPO vendors whilst younger ones take part.

The event is on Wednesday 23rd February from 11am-12pm. Tickets are £10 each and you can book here.

Exploding Rainbows and Chromatography Butterflies!

If LEGO robots aren’t your thing, GPO has also lined up some other exciting workshops with AmazeLab! Join us on Wednesday 23rd February for the Exploding Rainbows Workshop, children can create their very own exploding rainbow and learn all about the chemical reactions behind them!

This one is aimed at 5-11 year olds and parents are welcome to enjoy some ‘me time’ and enjoy a coffee or cocktail from GPO’s vendors.

The Exploding Rainbows Workshop runs from 11am-12pm on the 23rd February and you can book your tickets here.

And if you wanted to make a day of it, why not  break for lunch at one of GPO’s incredible food vendors (have you tried our brand new tenant Sawadee Thai) and join us at 1pm for the second AmazeLab workshop of the day – Chromatography Butterflies!

Kids will learn all about the science of chromatography and create their very own colourful chromatography butterfly to take home! Suitable for ages 5-11, this one is definitely one not to miss! The workshop runs from 1pm-2pm on 23rd February and you can secure your tickets here.

Catch a film at Everyman

Chances are, your little ones were absolutely obsessed with the first Sing film, where Buster Moon hosts a singing contest to save his theatre, so they’ll be ecstatic to learn that the second instalment is here!

Sing 2 follows Buster and his friends where they persuade reclusive rock star Clay Calloway (voiced by Bono), to join them for the opening of a new show. And with an incredible menu of pizza, hot dogs, sharing plates and even ice cream sundaes, there’ll be something for the whole family to tuck into whilst watching the film.

Book your tickets here.

Update Their Wardrobe at Kids Cavern

How do they grow so fast? If your little ones are in need of a wardrobe update, the new SS21 collection has arrived at Kids Cavern at Metquarter. With labels from Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Moschino and Moncler, they’ll be looking swish in no time.

If you’re planning on paying us a visit this half term, take advantage of NCP’s special offer, exclusively for Metquarter visitors. Park all day for just £6.50, learn more here.
