A renowned Liverpool based fashion designer, Kirsty has multiple years of experience in contemporary womenswear with a focus on creating bespoke bridal and occasion wear. Kirsty now focuses her efforts on The KD Club, an educational platform aimed at inspiring and mentoring young designers and creatives. The initiative has worked with countless young people across the UK and includes work on the ‘Young Designer Of The Future’ award in partnership with Randox Grand National, which helps give up and coming designers a platform to showcase their work. Kirsty is committed to nurturing emerging talent in the fashion industry working on recent projects in partnership with Metquarter including the KD Craft Grotto which brought together the work of young creative talent from across the UK to Liverpool with a pop-up shop.
Bethan is a lifelong creative who founded Buy by Bethan, a sustainable clothing brand that specialises in reworked, custom and one-of-a-kind clothing. Bethan also hosts reworking and tie-dye workshops across the country and has collaborated with companies such as Universal Music Group, Channel 5, River Island and Trainline. In the last year Bethan has opened concept store All Over The Shop in Metquarter which focuses on celebrating creatives working in fashion and accessories across Liverpool and Merseyside. All Over The Shop originally started as a series of pop-up workshops but has now grown to host 30 brands under one roof with no signs of success slowing down. The space at All Over The Shop also gives fellow creatives in the city the chance to host workshops, allowing them to pass on their expertise to aspiring creatives to gain new skills.
After the panel talk has taken place, guests will have the opportunity to ask both Bethan and Kirsty questions on their careers and how to succeed within the fashion industry. The Q&A will be followed by a screening of the critically acclaimed feminist film The Last Showgirl.
