Meet The Metquarter Family

Metquarter is a creative community housing learning, art, fashion, street food and entertainment. We are a family of like minded individuals and businesses that come together to make the centre a great place to work and to showcase the talent in Liverpool. Over the next few weeks, we’ll speak to some of our incredible tenants to find out more about the businesses they run in the centre.

First up, we’d like to introduce you to The Art Quarter. We sat down with the team to help you get to know them a little better;

How long have you been at the Metquarter?

Nearly 2 and a half years.

What made you want to come to the Metquarter?

The Metquarter stands prominent in the heart of the city centre. They actively support independent businesses which we as artists really appreciate.

When did you open your business?

We opened our doors on 29th June 2019.

What made you want to start your business?

We are a group of local independent artists striving to bring something different, special and unique to Liverpool.  Customers can hear about our inspiration and stories behind our work. By purchasing a piece of our work you are supporting an individual independent business and helping the local economy.

How have you grown over the years?

We originally formed in 2015 for the award winning ‘ONEart’. Due to its success, we popped up in many locations across Liverpool. The support from customers is overwhelming. We have finally found our home at Metquarter.

How long have you worked at your business and what is your job role?

Each artist is independent and many of us have incredibly valued stockists and exhibit in our hometown Liverpool and beyond.  We have a mixture of disciplines including printmaking, photography, fused glass art, textile design and much more.

The artists are:

Peter Cameron

Karen Edwards

Clare Ellis

Mary Delaney-Hald

Freida McKitrick
